1. Who we are

This website is run by JNB Scaffolding Ltd, trading as JNB Scaffolding, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17359191). Our address is Unit 2 Frederick Road, Kidderminster, DY11 7RA.

We are the "controller" of the personal information described in this policy. That means we decide how and why your information is used, and we are responsible for looking after it under UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we use your information, contact us at enquiries@jnbscaffolding.co.uk or on 01562630026

2. What information we collect

We collect and use the following information.

Information you give us. When you fill in our quote or contact form, call us, email us or speak to us in person, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, the address of the property or site, and any details you give us about your project.

Information about the job. If you become a customer, we keep records of the work we carry out for you. This may include quotes, invoices, payment records, correspondence, site survey notes, risk assessments, scaffold inspection records and photographs of the property or site.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, certain technical information is collected through cookies and similar technologies. This may include your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view and how you arrived at our site. Our Cookie Policy explains this in more detail.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information, such as health details or information about your beliefs. Please do not include anything like that in your messages to us.

3. How we collect your information

We collect information in four main ways: directly from you through our website forms, by phone, by email and in person, from our website provider and analytics tools through cookies, from our own records of the work we carry out, and, for commercial jobs, from the contractor or business you work for if they give us your details so we can arrange access.

4. Why we use your information and our legal basis

We use your information for the following purposes.

To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote. We do this because you have asked us to, and it is a necessary step before entering a contract.

To carry out and manage the work, arrange access, book dates, issue invoices and take payment. We do this because we need to in order to perform our contract with you.

To keep accounting, tax, health and safety and insurance records. We do this to meet our legal obligations.

To deal with complaints, claims and disputes, and to protect our legal rights. We do this because it is in our legitimate interests to defend our business.

To understand how our website is used and make it better. We do this because it is in our legitimate interests to run and improve our business. Where the law requires your consent before we use non-essential cookies, we ask for it first.

To take and use photographs of our scaffolding work. We keep photographs of jobs for our records and for insurance and safety reasons. We will only publish photographs that show your property, for example on our website or social media, if you have agreed to this.

5. How we communicate with you

We may contact you by phone, email, text message or post to respond to your enquiry, arrange surveys and installation, give you updates about your job, send invoices and deal with any problems.

We only send marketing messages, such as news or offers, if you have asked us to or if you are an existing customer and we are promoting similar services. You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, replying to tell us, or contacting us using the details above.

6. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where we need to, and only with people who have a good reason to see it. This may include:

Our website provider, Wix, which hosts our site and processes the information you enter into our forms.

Analytics and advertising providers, where we use them and where you have agreed to the relevant cookies.

Our accountants, bookkeepers, insurers, brokers and other professional advisers.

Payment providers and banks, where we take payment.

Your local council, if we arrange a scaffold licence for you.

Other contractors, builders or site managers on your project, where we need to coordinate access.

The police, courts, regulators or other public authorities, where the law requires us to.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we make sure it is protected by an appropriate safeguard, for example a UK adequacy decision or approved contract terms.

Third-party services such as Wix and Google have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle information under their own terms.

7. How we keep your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Our website runs on secure hosting, and we limit access to your information to the people who need it. If we take card payments, they are handled by our payment provider and we do not store your full card details. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. How long we keep your information

We keep your information only for as long as we need it.

Enquiries that do not lead to a job: up to 12 months.

Customer and job records, including quotes, invoices, inspection records and correspondence: up to 6 years after the job ends, to meet our tax, accounting, insurance and legal obligations.

Marketing contact details: until you ask us to stop.

Website analytics data: for the period set by the analytics provider.

When we no longer need your information, we delete it or make it anonymous.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work and, with your consent, to understand how it is used. Our Cookie Policy explains what we use, why, and how you can change your choices. You can find it on our website.

10. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete.

Ask us to delete your information, in certain circumstances.

Ask us to restrict how we use your information, in certain circumstances.

Object to us using your information where we rely on our legitimate interests, and object at any time to direct marketing.

Ask for your information in a format that can be passed to another organisation, where this applies.

Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it. This does not affect anything we have already done with your information.

To use any of these rights, contact us at jnbscaffoldingltd@gmail.com. We may need to check your identity first. We will usually reply within one month. There is normally no charge.

11. Children

Our services and website are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

12. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator. You can contact them at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

13. Changes to this policy
